Wealden Cycle Club was formed in 2011 by Simon Relf and Dave Gurden in Crowborough.
Originally the club was established to help local cyclists find others to ride with. As the club has grown in size over the years it is now run by committee.
The club is affiliated to Cycling UK (formerly the CTC).
Wealden Cycle Club aims to cater for cyclists of all abilities. It is based in Crowborough with regular rides in the surrounding areas. We usually run 4 or 5 different types and standards of ride each week so there's always a ride for everyone regardless of their cycling ability. As you become a more experienced rider you can progress through the groups so you're always riding with other people of a similar speed and ability.
The other objective of the club was always to raise money for local charities. Currently we support Hospice in the Weald and Crowborough Hospital.
